BMH

HUb
The Basque Microelectronics Hub (BMH) is an initiative promoted by the Association of Knowledge Industries and Applied Technology (GAIA) with the support and commitment of the Basque Government and SPRI to promote a microelectronics industry in the Basque Country.

The BMH, as such, fulfils informative and administrative functions of interest to all GAIA associates and other third party collaborators, representing a space open to participation in it.

Our value proposal:

Open

Reflection and action ecosystem aimed at promoting a new sector structure and leadership.

International

Referential node of experience, knowledge and regional microelectronic projection.

Expert

Specialized resources in sectoral and technological development.

Participatory

Dynamic space, inclusive of the experience of all interest groups.

Technologies

The discipline of microelectronics encompasses the range of equipment and systems on which the main enabling technologies and state-of-the-art digital solutions converge:

Cybersecurity of systems
Focused on the protection of embedded software.
Certification
From hearing, evaluating and performing control and performance tests on systems and solutions.
Intelligent sensors
Based on the incorporation of digital signals into the processor, memory and network controller, and having functional preprocessing, notification or decision making capabilities.
Wireless communications
Applied to embedded networking, it facilitates the production of more robust systems, as well as reducing their power consumption.
Printed electronics
Aimed at the production of electrical devices using functional inks and 3D printing.
Neuromorphic computing
Aimed at mimicking neurobiological structures of the human nervous system.
Edge Intelligence
Aimed at accelerating computations that require fast responses by applying Artificial Intelligence techniques at the Edge.
Data spaces
Aimed at the acceleration of asset management platforms, business use, sectoral scope, and digital core.
Industrial communications
Aimed at integrating OT/IT connectivity into critical systems.
System-on-chip and Silicon IPs
Designed for communications, computing and control applications.
Flexible electronics
Applied to the assembly of electronic circuits on plastic substrates.
Optoelectronics and photonics
Aimed at the progressive succession of current electrical technologies, due to their small size, energy efficiency and speed of information processing.
Embedded analytics and artificial intelligence
Aimed at real-time computation of processes related to perception, reasoning, learning or problem solving.
Quantum technologies
Applied to the manufacture of digital platforms (IoT, IIoT, connectivity, smart sensors, etc.), quantum processors, or the application of cybersecurity solutions.
Materials and components
From innovation in new manufacturing processes and the use of raw materials with adapted properties.
